Recommendations before and during the trip:
Avoid going out the night before in the city of Cusco as a distraction, we understand that staying in this beautiful city will generate the desire to enjoy the night, this would harm your physical performance. Instead of going out, sleep well, since generally the tours will start super early and we need you to find yourself energized.
- Given that global warming is increasing, we suggest applying a sunscreen every 2 hours to prevent damage to the skin, caused by the sun’s rays.
- For any tour you can take, we recommend you bring snacks, whether they are nuts or energy bars, these products will help give you strength along the way.
- It is important to acclimatize in Cusco between 2 or 3 days before any tour.
- Staying hydrated on the hike is also important to your health. Therefore, we recommend taking small sips of water on the way, the water contains oxygen that will help you on the ascent.
- In the case of suffering from altitude sickness, we recommend consuming coca leaf mate, muña, if you can’t find a way to prepare a mate, chew it too.
- Breathe! It is logical, but the altitude limits the arrival of oxygen to the brain, which causes terrible headaches, so the recommendation is always to breathe hard, hold the air for 4 or 6 seconds and then exhale, this will help oxygenate the brain , you will feel much better.
