1.- UNDERSTANDING COASTAL SUMMER IN PERU

One of the most important factors for a traveler to choose a destination for your vacation is undoubtedly when there is better weather, better temperature and can perform any activity.

1.1.- When is Summer in Peru?

Is the ideal time where everything is in your favor, it happens from November until the last days of March. On the other hand between June and September you feel the most challenging and changing weather that is completely opposite to the weather in Peru in March, time of the year where everything is perfect.

Keep in mind that all the pleasantness that Summer in Peru has is not in the whole country, it is only felt this way in the area near the sea (Coastal region), in the rest of the regions the weather can be very opposite. That is because there are 3 ecological lines that cross Peru from the north side to the extreme south, these are:

    • Desert coast to the west
    • Andes mountain range in the southern sector.
    • Amazon rainforest to the east

During the Summer in Peru the temperature can change between 18°C up to 26°C, which represents a very warm weather with prominent rays during most of the day, remember that the weather in Peru in March is a little bit higher because it could increase between 2°C to 3°C per day, this is very hot. However in the Andes the climate in Peru is very different, varying from 6°C to 16°C which makes it quite cold besides having cloudy skies and presence of rains, the same happens in the Peruvian jungle in terms of climate but the temperature is much higher from 25°C to 35°C.

    • It is always good to communicate in the local language, not everyone speaks Spanish so try to learn the basic words to be able to express manners such as Gracias (thank you), Disculpa (excuse me), ¿Puedes ayudarme? ( can you help me) and others.
    • If your destination is not the beaches, but the Andes, then it is better that your suitcase preparation is focused on preventing the cold, so take raincoats and warm clothes.
    • The jungle on the other hand represents a lot of heat, it is best to bring light clothing such as shorts, but here it is important to bring insect repellent.
